raging waters

by chappy-virgo - Not entered

The rolling whiteness crashing.
On me, dragging me out,
taking me away from this.
getting stronger and stronger.
i cannot fight it, so i do not.
i let it have its ways upon me.
i let it beat me down.
i let it take me away.
i care no longer to stay
with hate drilling at me.
it brings me under.
takes my breath from my soul.
deeper and darker i turn,
from within, reaching out i burn.
i am home now. with all the shells.
all the clams and crabs and oysters.
i'll learn in time enough,
before the seas again get rough,
how to build a shell,
just as they have done.
A barrier from cold and crazy waters.
only in time.
then, and only, will you be mine.

Reason for writing:

i wrote this while sitting on the beach, watching the waves come and go.

i submitted it because i want people to read my poetry and
maybe get some constructive criticism out of it. thank you.
