Petrarchan Sonnet I

by Cory Bogner {Pisces} - Not entered

I have seen perfection in two beautiful brown eyes
And a smile that melted my heart.
When she enters a room my eyes dart,
There is no question where my heart lies.
She is amazing, my love for her I can't disguise.
If my heart stopped beating, for her it would start;
It hurts me inside when she must depart,
But she's the only one I would want to hear my cries.

It is true, I love her so much it hurts,
But the pleasure by far balances out the pain.
There are always good thoughts on my mind,
The bad ones she easily converts.
She brings sunshine on days of rain.
She is the only piece of heaven I've been able to find.

Reason for writing:

    I wrote this for the only girl I ever loved, who would later
become my fiance. I never really did think it was any good; maybe
that's why she broke it off.
