Together we walked along gold-plated streets, Which marked the end of a season Where trees danced with the wind, Trying to lose their leaves And stand instead, Naked and Proud. Arm locked in arm, we walked. We threw away the key So that forever we might be entwined, Entangled, One. He spoke not with his voice, Nor in a language that I knew, And yet I understood. And below a moon which guided my passions, And under a sky whose stars showed the way, And on a sheet of grass, Lush and verdant as Eden, I answered. All the leaves have fallen, And tomorrow it will snow.
