Slow Dancing

by Mark R. Nelson (Sag.) - Not entered

Fingers entwined, our bodies embraced as one
As we floated over the floor, eyes closed,
Staring into our own worlds as thoughts and dreams
         Trap the moment, trying to
         Forget everything around us.
Only the breathing in our chests and the movement of our feet
Remind us of our mortal existence.
Wishing the music would go on forever
And then, as if slowly waking from a long sleep, we
Raise our heads from each other's shoulder, our eyes
Drawn together as our bodies slip away and we become two again.

Reason for writing:

It's what I felt at the time!
