The Yellow Rose Cafe

by PoetryGirl (Cancer) - Not entered

In the virtual world of ultimate love
there is a place I say
where faceless names love nameless souls,
the Yellow Rose Cafe.
Came to it once, sheer accident.
Stopped in for a drink with no intent
But where within, I met a gent,
who, only after hours spent,
changed my life that day.
The oddest thing, he had no face,
no haunting eyes, no lips to trace.
Not one feature could I find,
not one image came to mind.
Outside we strolled by the garden way
to a booth on which a yellow rose lay.
Hours we spent, I and this man,
sharing our dreams and holding hands.
My every desire I shared with him,
I opened my heart and took him in.
Suddenly, I realized, very much to my surprise,
It mattered not he had no eyes
for what's in the heart can't be disguised. :o)

Reason for writing:

In chatting on IRC, it was never more clear that what is really attractive about a person is not what they look like on the outside, but what's in their heart. :o)
