Shenandoah Flood Stage

by Jim Medeiros (Scorpio) - Not entered

Seized the snake's tail,
He reared, swarming his slit,
Cobra hood swelling fields,
Maddened movie monster swiping trees,
Raging boa wrapping the valley's spine,
Forcing houses, sheep, people
Down-gullet,
Spreading bloated beast's carcass,
Headwaters dove downstream,
Venomous bite piercing towns crowding his lair
Leaving soggy digested bodies,
Muddied dripping belly juice,
Spiteful Shenandoah snake saliva.

Reason for writing:

    The dead in the flood.
