Distorting the perception of the naked eye

by Jaime L W - Not entered

a tree that appears lifeless is alive
giving a delusional appearance
pretending to be old and worn
but the tree that appears lifeless is alive.

a man that appears withered is full of life
walking with a tiresome gate
going about and living the days
but the man that appears withered is full of life.

a clock that appears the have slowed is alive
giving a notion of the end of time
counting the minutes and passing the hours
but that clock that appears slow is alive.

Reason for writing:

My inspiration for this perticular poem was the snow.
It has been snowing here and when I looked outside,
the first thing I saw was a tree that appeared dead,
as most do at this time, but my sense of seasons has
been off...so for a second, it did not click that due
to the weather, that is why the tree is like that.
