Lilith

by Peter Grantham, Aries - Not entered

I saw her in my sleep
Her lilim were beside her
The devil stood there there smiling
And adam reconised her

Her children screaming in the night
Were growing dark and black
The incubi were waiting
To use their hungry trap

And in my dream she called me
By terror's ugly name
And the jinn she knew were rising
From the soul of Satan's flame

"Come join us" they were shouting
And Lilith shed a tear
"Come to us" they were yelling
And they filled my heart with fear

"What do you want from me?" I asked them
"You soul" was the reply
And through their evil laughter
I got on my knees and cried

I sit here in my padded cell
Staring at the hole
Of what was once my sanity
Should have given her my soul
