A Computer XMas

A COMPUTER XMAS

I'm sixty five, I'm old and gray/
I never thought, I'd reach this day.
When everything, Has changed so fast.
From written words, To printers path.

Those strange new words, We have to know.
Config, exec, bat and info.
I know it will be all worth while.
To prove this, Just open a file.

I've made a list of things I need.
Like a little kid, I have a greed.
Since Xmas should last thru the year.
I'll spread my list, around with cheer.

My 386 is three years old.
I can't afford to let it go.
The list is long, But not complete.
Upgrading now, bit by bit.

4 Rams are small, and need extension.
64 Wow, a lot more tension.
The hard drive, like me, needs a facelift.
Two gigabytes is the perfect gift.

Increase the speed, I should know.
100 megahertz, will make it glow.
The old mother board, needs a change.
Pentium, could be a cool new range.

2, 4, 6, 8 Make it faster.
Don't forget a new soundblaster.
The 3.1 is not alive.
Just upgrade to a 95.

Forget the old dot matrix printer.
Replace it with a color laser.
The software, the software, is there no end?
Millions of programs, time to bend.

A voice box and video, the mpeg's cry out.
Don't forget us, I hear them shout.
On modems, on faxes, on towers & switches.
On Cd's, on keyboards, & On & On crashes.

Oh yes, the world wide web is appealing.
But those long net codes, are defeating.

My computer is new on XMas day.
My ego inflated, I say, I say.
On XMas day, I smile----Complete.
By New Year's Day ----It's OBSOLETE.
