Sirens

Sirens

Weeping...
but my soul can't hear...

Whispering winds of calm forgotten
‹in tragic moments of misunderstanding.

Pain...
sweeping in,
forging & trudging through wars I cannot see
‹but feel beneath the surface stars of my smile...

I stand alone...
My knees buckling
in the hushed pleads of my wind torn heart...

Can you see the trumpets sounding through my tears?
Can you hear the silence of my screams?

I tremble to the sounds of sirens ringing in my ears...

Reason for writing:

I recently found out my mother had cancer and in order to get
my feelings out, I often write poetry. I was inspired to
share this poem because it speaks to the universe of the pain I'm
going through in dealing with my mothers illness. By passing
in on, I feel I can heal...
