Unsociable?

by Cory Bogner {Pisces} - Not entered

He stands in the corner of a crowded room,
Alone in his group of friends.
Inevitably he’ll set the tone
By his mood alone.

He pretends not to like the attention he seeks,
So he seeks it silently, again.
As he steps in
The show is ready to begin.

It is hard for him to play this role,
But secretly he accepts the call.
He plays it well they say,
No reason to change today.

He does not understand their attraction to him,
He’s never thought much of himself.
To him it is undeserved,
The praise he is served.

But he does not realize one thing,
And his friends are oblivious, too.
Without their presence,
He loses his essence.

He needs them as much as they want him,
So they serve each other well.
So who takes the lead
Now? Who indeed.

They are an inseparable pair, a group and one,
And they use each other for fun.
It is not right and it is not wrong,
For neither knew it all along.
