it was a thought, just a thought

by Thomas Lee Rhymes (Cancer) - Not entered

Are we "dancing" tonight?
or, are you too tired?
Never mind,
it was a thought.

Perhaps you are tired
perhaps you need a nap
No, you never did like me to wake you
not for THAT, anyway.

Tell me,
exactly WHEN do you
think of us together?
Sometime during lunch, perhaps?
Or at the grocer's?
Too bad I am not around
when you do - isn't it?

It matters not,
the die has been cast
the page already turned
We are no longer
lovers, that much is true,
We are

We are

What ARE we?

C 1996 by Thomas Lee Rhymes - written TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 1996

Reason for writing:

When the act of Love fades, and becomes something done more as an appeasement, rather than an act of Passion - one tends to wonder if the other ever even thinks about "it" anymore.
