Hands Apart

by Kerry A Nitz - Virgo - Not entered

So tenuously found
A gentle understanding of ours,
Still left spell bound
The earliest of flowers;
Starting from scratch
Individuals so far apart,
Such an unlikely match
Broken from the start.

Two years that wouldn’t rhyme
And thoughts that I tried not to hide,
Looking back on our time
I feel a piece of me has died;
Independently together
A sparkle mirrored in our eyes,
Talking about the weather
And trying not to say goodbyes.
