I am the phantom, the princess silver and white, who haunts the darkened curtains and hidden wings I am she who drifts just beyond the colored lights a shade past the bright unfolding charade always the swish of vanishing satin the shadow that flutters away in a blink... the stage is my only love the costumes, the colors, the masks, the lights my obsession... the drama is my crystal case and I am all that is real, I feel the passion of every expression - dizzy, swirling the world unfolding beneath my silken grasp and misty reality, I am the spirit mistress of this shadow half-world; beautiful gilded dream.
Reason for writing:
I was an extra in a play, a silver and white satin princess. For most of the play I wandered backstage, watching and listening, enraptured, from curtains and dark corners. The feeling demanded to be written down, so I grabbed a pen and paper towel and wrote this by the dim dressing-room lights. Please comment at alundra@juno.comBirth sign: Not entered
