FACES

by Anu Mann; Taurus - Not entered

I've seen familiar faces in strange, exotic light,
Watched mad, harmonic shadows illuminate folds of skin.
A melody in-creases composed of sweet dischord,
To amplify the beauty of the known chaotic world.
Their texture although coarse, from days of tireless sloth,
Conveys the existential flux in universal guise.
With eyes of calm acceptance and nose for sharp distaste,
They reflect laughter in soothing misery, tears in biting joy.
In monotonous tones they scream with vibrant, lofty pitch,
And part their sneering lips to exhale the breath of God.

Reason for writing:

Rebirth: The infinate thoughts, emotions, and conflicts in my life
have been connected by a common thread. Knowledge that the divine is
composed of all earthly people has reformed me. God is the song
resounding in all misery, sorrow, laughter, longing, hopes, and dreams
that well in the breast of humanity. I have regained my self-confidence,
my compassion, my sorrow, and my joy. I have recovered my soul. I shall
henceforth be Anu Mann.

These songs are the blessing and bane of my existence. An unending
wave that breaks over my soul in blinding flashes of sorrow and joy, lust
and longing. When bottled they churn and stagnate. With toxic, hateful hands
they rip and rend, polluting the depths of my soul. This is my life's blood,
given freely, to be consumed and passed to others. I have remained silent
far too long. NOW IS THE TIME TO SING!
