Underwater Mirage

by Johnny McVies - Not entered

I want to sleep forever
In an underwater mirage
Taking time and turning it
Into a good old tidal barrage

I don't care for screaming boys
Take away their worldly toys
Let them ride with me to hell
A little madness would do them well

I want to live with my mermaid girl
And make her love me forever
We'll be so happy, we'll be so right
We'll take on any endeavor

Let the earthly souls that think they know me
Come along sometime and show me
How they try to get it done
How they try to avoid the sun

Reason for writing:

This is yet another poem that was meant to be a song.
Actually I hope I get criticized all to hell by the
"serious" poets at this page because this would have
been a hell of a pop song, but as a poem it seems sorta stupid. ( It was inspired by the Doors' "Moonlight
Drive.")
