Outkast

Outkast
_______

No matter where I'm at
Being accepted is hard for this cat
Whether in the U.S. or Mexico
People always question my flow
When I visit the motherland
I always get the feel
That people don't like it when I keep it real
So what's the deal?
Is it because I dress different?
Like different music?
Or is it cause my spanish is different?
You say I'm not Mexican enough
That I'm too much of some Chicano/Gringo wannabe n' stuff
Even when I'm home
The Mainstream looks at me like a nome
If I try to get a job
People think I'm too Mexican
That I don't know English
If I walk into a liquor store
Habib looks at me like a thug
Ready to cause trouble
so he watches me on the double
Personally, I think this is all
Bullshit & I don't give uhhh...
So all you ignorant motherfuckers
can get the finger from me
Cause no color lines are seen by me
& I don't care from what side
of the border your from
As long as respect is given
but still, you don't hear me though
If being an Outkast is what I am
So be it
I'll ride the elevators that I'll
take me to that next level
While y'all can chill with the devil

Reason for writing:

That's the way it is and will it ever change?
