Roses are red Violets are blue Once and for all THIS IS NOT ABOUT YOU. I saw her standing there behind the line She caught my eye and stared and I read the sign. She urged me to come back another day I did and we met and I didn't know what to say. She stood open-mouthed; ready to speak I felt nervous, apprehensive--helplessly weak. [This was a girl I hadn't met before Just seen from afar but now no more.] She seemed to gather her thoughts and decide what to do She said, "Never before have we met but I think I know you." Never in forever had I predicted she'd say that Upon my request we went outside to the park and sat. Softly she spoke, "I'll admit I've been watching you this whole time And from it I've observed that your life is quite like mine. You hold back and listen and observe And because of that you've gained but lost your nerve. A wealthy mind is yours but turn it around Show your love so in reverse it will be found. There's a manner about you no one but I can see A passion, a fear, an ironic state of mind--just like me. However there is a difference that lies between us You've searched and desired it and feared it was ludicrous. Nothing of the such! Look deep withing the evil of your mind Be brave and be opposite of everything and it is me you will find. Still I remained as motionless as before It was the formidable curtain of change that she wore. Reluctant to face it, my body went numb I wanted to hide but didn't, for I knew this day would come.
