Touched By An Angel

by Brian Cosgrove- Aquarius - Not entered

One night, I was touched by an angel
we danced under the vivid moon
radiant stars shined down upon us
 no words spoken
just the warmth of her embrace
the subtle softness of her flesh
a beauty I had forever longed for
 her hair smelled like strawberries
 so soft, silky, and long
 heavenly was the feeling
For so long, I had stood
 watching others in love
 detached from the emotion
 alone
 nevermore
 my angel had appeared
 Just as I was falling
 words of love struck poets
 singing in my head
 My angel vanished
 withered away into the night
She cried out for me repeatedly
 I tasted her tears
I clutched my pillow ever so tight
determined not to let her slip away
Restlessley I tossed and I turned
One last glimpse- she was reaching out for me
 suddenly, the morning sun
 startled my unexpecting eyes
You see, my angel was just a dream
Gone before I could even say goodbye
 Goodnight my love...

Reason for writing:

Am I the only one who has fell in love while asleep? To drift afar, into a dream, only to awake to the same monotany that life brings? To have perfection, in your grasp, only to realize that it was nothing but a dream and then lie awake in disappointment. Maybe it's just me...
