Mix Me

by Frances Wade...Virgo - Not entered

Who says we don't have time for this?
Oh my, can I resist
A poem?

That overwhelming continual need
To show invention and plant a creative seed
For others.

Mix it up why don't you come on over
Present me with a problem--I know her
Very well.

Dare I say I no longer need to wait?
Crappy, impatient...must I debate
Everything always?

Here, there, but never complete
Fuck this, fuck that, accept defeat
As always.

And must I relentlessly hope
For change and good and happiness to evoke
(my)True self?

Don't you see you can't go there?
Me and no life come as a pair
For now.

Someone complains you always need more
Because after awhile it becomes a bore
To everyone.

I and he and we thought it would take long
But who were we to assume and be wrong
About this?

It totally seems like long ago
I was her and she didn't care and I know
That's gone.

I tried to hide it in this verse
But it looks as if it came through like a curse
To haunt.
