Believed

by t.P. Victor (Libra) - Not entered

You asked me to move on
When you, yourself, have already moved on.
You kissed him softly
Quietly, you told me it was I you love.
You assured me, “Things won’t ever change,”
And “We’ll always be friends,”
But I find it so hard to believe
When what I believed in was a lie.
I believed in you,
And I believed in us;
With all my heart and all my trust
I gave you my love;
My undivided soul was yours, dear.
But how time has changed,
And feelings past.
I still believe in love, hon
But just not in you,
Just not in us.

Reason for writing:

    It is based on a true experience I went through. For the longest time, I tried to put into words this event in my journal, but I couldn't find, as Robert Smith said in Pictures of You, "for the words to be true." Then one day, inspiration struck, and these words came to mind. So, I let my pen do the talking. I hope you enjoy reading it.
