Cruel Fate

by Emily - Not entered

There is a door I cannot open, no matter how hard I try,
Seeing my friends on the other side makes me want to cry,
A fog surrounds me, I'm trapped forever, never to be free,
Sometimes I wish I was like everyone else, what can I ever be?
I hear the whispers and the laughter, though I pretend not to hear,
I may unlock the door someday, find the key some year,
Until I do, I must wait, merely a victim of cruel fate.

Reason for writing:

I wrote this because I know people with disabilities, and I want others to know how they feel.
