Sailing

by Christina Zonak (Leo) - Not entered

Alone and Adrift in an unnamed sea
The waves gently brush my boat
There is a silence and a stillness
Almost alien, And yet strangely Familiar
As I watch at the horizon
The longer I stare aimlessly
My disquietude continues
Consuming me
Yet, I am helpless
Against it’s power
So I stare Forward and onward

My Ship is weak and Dying
It has weathered many storms
I hear it groan as I try
To push onward
Yet I know deep in my mind
That we will never reach our destination
We will be only a memory
Leaving a brief but Profound Stillness
In our Wake
