Broken Faith, Shattered Dreams

by Chris Brinkley (Cancer) - Not entered

I lent you my ear, so that you would never be lonely,
and you seared it with your lies.

I gave you my trust, that I might be the One,
and you betrayed me all the same.

I gave you my Love, to hope that you would never cry,
and you turned cold as the arctic night.

I shared with you my dreams, that we would build them together,
and watched you shatter them.

I put my faith in you, that you might never fail,
and it was I who fell from on high.

I wish I had something more to give,
But my Mind is Numb,
My Soul is Broken,
My Heart is Shattered.

And I Love you, all the same.
