A Love Never Known

by The Eldrich Poet - Not entered

I stand here now, the brink of time,
I fight to stand, amidst the crime,
I wait for you, to join me here,
I know not where you are, my dear.

Between the worlds, of light and dark,
My life is but, a flitting spark,
I’m half a man, I need you here,
I know not where you are, my dear.

I cry aloud, I rave alone,
You are not just, another clone,
Your presence does, dissuade my fear,
I know not where you are, my dear.

I live here now, inside my hell,
I do not know, where last I fell,
My eyes are dry, my vision’s clear,
I know not where you are, my dear.

My heart has not, been broken true,
My heart was born, without you too,
My empty shell, its death is here,
I know not where you are, my dear.

A love not met, a love so blind,
The truest love, the pure of mind,
I love you now, I want you here,
I know not where you are, my dear.

And here I stand, the brink of time,
I wait for you, my love does climb,
My passion is, forever near...
I know not where you are, my dear.

“Tis’ better to have loved and lost...
Then to have never loved at all.”

Reason for writing:

I wrote this to illustrate the love that I hold in my
heart for the true love who is out there somewhere,
who I may never meet, or never feel the love of.
