Comforter

by Christina Zonak (Leo) - Not entered

Can you sense me? Can you feel my thoughts?
As I think of the past, I can’t help but wonder.
Is this a lie, an illusion?
And I hold back.
All this for fear.
Fear of betrayal, of pain.
And I tremble
But as you hold me close.
I no longer shake.
Your touch takes the fear from me.
You speak softly to me
And your words are a solace.
As I drift off,
To the sweet realm of dreams
As I lie close to you,
I think this is real…
I know this is real.
