My Angel

by Elle - Not entered

Her weak heart beating
(thump..........thump)
My ears panicking to hear another
(thump)
One last lullaby
With her cradled in my arms
(thump)
Tiny eyes closing softly
  And then
      Silence
A blessed child at peace.

An angel was born that day

She came to me in a dream
  one night
With angel's wings
  This time
daughter held mother
  Embracing me
She took me into
  the air where
I touched the sky
  and felt
Clouds tickle my nose
  and face
Her laugh a beautiful melody
   nightingales full of envy
Her face so at peace
  full of hope and faith
She brought me home
a soft kiss on my cheek
Bittersweet tears
  falling down my face

With the sun
  spilling in
I awake from
this sweet dream
  A nightingale's melody
softly heard
   In my ears
A smile on my face
  My contented heart
       beating
With my angel inside.
