Heartbreak

by mary k. taurus - Not entered

How can you love someone you do not know?
For surely this is more than friendship,
this aching, wanting, needing feeling
that no words seem to quench.
I feel as if a part of me is gone
a part that only you can replace,
How is it that you stole my heart
with just a few black words stuck on white?
I have yet to feel your touch.
These eyes have not yet seen your face.
Your voice has not yet caressed my name,
yet you stole my heart away.
You own the key, you are my jailer.
Lock me up and take me away.
I forever am your helpless captive,
do with me as you please.
Take me away
Take me away
Take me away to your kingdom in the clouds.

Reason for writing:

    the frustration of long-distance relationships
