I am free! I am happy! My heart is full My feet feel like dancing I leap with joy My voice rises I pour out my heart, my soul My eyes sparkle They reflect the joy the rest of me is feeling. My mouth follows after my eyes It widens and my face creases With the joy I am feeling Oh freedom! How sweet! How beautiful! How wonderful! There are no ties to bind me down There are no ties to make me die No longer will my spirit be crushed and folded under the strain No longer will my heart turn black and bruised and shrivel up, dying. Instead my soul takes wing and flies higher and higher Till I can touch the face of God My heart fills with warmth, with light Every corner and crevice is illuminated It expands and grows larger Causing my face, my eyes to reflect the release I am feeling My body no longer slumps under the strain Instead I walk upright Free and proud once again. Oh freedom! How sweet! How beautiful! How wonderful!
