a walk

by Michael Escobedo, cancer - Not entered

And I walked in circles.
And I walked away.
Through the haze of tomorrow.
On a night that was today.

Some see in bright colors.
Some, shades of grey.
I saw the darkness in light.
On a night that was today.

The voice whispers remorse,
for the place I'd never stay.
Not even to return home.
On a night that was today.

And my world is filled with silence,
for the words I dare not say.
So I walk the streets unnoticed.
Forever drifting, cast away.

Reason for writing:

I was inspired to write this while watching the snowfall outside.
