A Sonnet

by Dominic Jenkins ~cancer~ - Not entered

Let the stars burn an eternal existence
Let the clouds float above the torrid sea
But let me not heed a heavied heart
Rather a lightened soul which was caused by thee

Long as the rain shall fall, the snow shall melt
My heart I will leave in thine open hand
Cherish dear as if thine own for if not
Breath will not cross mine own lip e'er again

Pearls of dew on the spider's tender web
Sparkle in the eerie glow of the moon.
Nevermore shall the coral gardens grow
There is no sun, for you cease to be near.

Without your love I will be laid to rest
With my head upon anothers breast.

Reason for writing:

I wrote it for Nadine Comeau
It's my first sonnet, there's more to come...
