The Closed Door

by Dianna-capricorn - Not entered

It's funny how life changes,
How our joy just slips away,
With a single word, a careless thought,
Someone you love goes away.
I never knew what was happening,
You never even said goodbye,
All of a sudden you just moved on,
And left me here to cry.
I thought you'd come back eventually,
As you've always done before,
But as I search for your smiling face,
All I see is a closed door.

Reason for writing:

It represents an ending that has resently come to pass in my life...he left me...and he never even said goodbye. I never knew when it ended. I thought he'd come back when it was over...but he hasn't. I've discovered through my tears that the door is closed...permanently?
