A Kiss

by D.T. Reinhart - Not entered

Held captive by emotions
I can't control,
I am swept away sometimes
to thoughts of her.
I envisioned
slowly approaching her,
gazing at that beautiful face
to reveal
everything in my soul.
Slowly and gently,
I touched her face
as my fingerips
brushed the back of her neck.
Still holding
her eyes in mine,
I wanted her to feel
the strength of my love.
Delicately
my lips caressed hers,
igniting a passion
within us
that I was forced to suppress
to maintain
the beautiful intimacy
which I longed for.
The passion
would take care of itself
in time.
I wanted her
to feel all the tenderness
I hold in my heart
for her.
Feeling
through my eyes and lips,
everything in my soul.
She would know me
completely.
Realizing
what she holds
in the deepest recesses
of her inner being.
