New Age Marriage

by J. C. Horak - Not entered

New Age Marriage

We could not attach too strongly
                    this bond.
Misshapen though, sometimes,
   unalert to pain,...others.
Unhappiness, unfulfillment are not
     metaphors for disease.
Expecting intensity, offering none,
   Have you substituted leaving
               for eloquence?
And thought of buying happiness
   with a quitter's debt?

Reason for writing:

Notice of the endemic ambivalence of modern couples
toward their marriage vows. JCH
