The Death Messenger

by F. Norman McCullogh - Not entered

"A Death Messenger"

Alone like the Dog Star shooting through the air,
Endless tail of fire chasing Thee like a lock of Golden Hair.

The Moon is left alone without Your presence in the night sky,
I am left alone when You vanish into the dark vast reaches of the Galaxy.

Many see Your endless, incandescent presence as a sign from the Divinities,
Did the Olympians send you as a messenger? Where is their Hermes?

Oh, He does not call for Death!!
