Days On Siesta Key © by Bob Parrish The sounds of the surf beckon the way For you – the start of a breathtaking day Where the palm and hibiscus stand On the water the sun’s golden band Where in the skies pastels prance While in the water dolphins dance Where on the sand the surf sounds Make one’s thoughts have no bounds Where the beaches are bright And for all present, bring delight Where the sounds of a symphony nearby At this music soul is loosed and let fly Where in the surf one does stand The warm water encircles & bands Where the sail one does sight As man and nature try to unite Where the water and sky become one Oh! Such a grand joy for everyone And at day end when the sun & water meet This is the time when dark and light meet Where at the color of a setting sun Others pause to enjoy as, one Where time comes for such a quiet night To hear a sound, one must strain, with all his might Or when the moon is full Such a quiet sparkle on the water lull Where at times such a quiet night Only rustling leaves heard all night Where night once again delivers solace To those in the surf — all-of-us The sound of the water whispers to you This is God’s gift to the mind of you The sound of the breeze whispers to you This is God’s gift to the soul of you The sound of rustling leaves whispers to you This is God’s gift to the sight of you The silence of the dusk whispers to you This is God’s gift to the spirit of you The sounds of the surf beckon the way For you — this is the end of a breathtaking day
