Lover's Last Night

by Frost/ Taurus - Not entered

A soft gentle light
falls with sweet grace
down, down the land
To that one special place
where magic meets mystery
in a merry dance
where the rabid sleep
and lions prance

Oh, sweet, sweet memories
that whirl in my head
the truth of the being
for all to be said

lovers' last night
before a tragic day
a bitter fight
of foul play
A kiss on the beach
and a chilling goodbye
Oh, oh the memories, that make me lay down and cry
I lay on the grass
That once embraced us
I cried for the chance
to have it again
I wished to the sun
that hung up above
No longer fun
I REACH OUT TO YOU, MY LOVE

I begged you to stay,
the morning next
but you had go
and I feared hours long
I paced in fury
in anger I screamed

Until over the breeze
until over the seas
came the whisper goodbye
that I breathed in,
breathed out,
with a long, lonely sigh

Reason for writing:

I wrote this poem as it came to my head. It is not really a true story, but it could be. It is a sad poem, but hopefully its dramatic love can touch others.
