guilty

by billie cancer - Not entered

guilty of loving too much
misery the punishment
sentenced to consecutive life terms
the cold lonesome bed the jail
the relentless dreams the wardens

each nightfall dread
eats away at the heart
the heart that caused the hainess offense
dread of returning to the
empty cell of slumber

beaten bloody by cruel dreams
haunted by dreams of
painful nights passed
yet real pain lives
in the happy dreams
reminders of
the out of reach

escape is attainable
but alas bone numbing fatigue
from the tiresome life
pulls the prisoner back

Reason for writing:

    the restless nights
