The Rose

by Norris Jenkins - Not entered

A sweet smell flows throuh the air
Bringing thoughts of things that are fair
I look from side to side
Looking for the place you hide
                    But nowhere can I find
The smell that fills my mind

I walk a long the path of life
Hoping you whould be my wife
Yet when I round the next bend
The smell helps my mind mend
For what do my eyes see
A perfect rose just for me

Reason for writing:

i just think of a rose and i think of this poem i wrote many years ago
