A Friendship That Lasts A Lifetime

by Jada, Capricorn - Not entered

We weren't always this way, you know
Once, we had never met,
Once, you couldn't stand me.
Perhaps it was destiny
that united us
Perhaps it was God.
Whoever it was, I'd like to know,
so I could thank them
from the bottom of my heart.

For you are one of the
greatest friends I've ever had.
You are not only a great friend,
but an incredible person
as well.
Your honesty, compassion, and
emotion never ceases to amaze me.
And never was there a more open-minded
and open-hearted person then you.

In a way, you made me the
person I am today,
for I would not be this way
if we had never met.
You took a chance with me
one warm, summer day
and gained a freindship
that will last a lifetime.

I will never forget
the warm smile,
the twinkle in your eyes,
or your ability to brighten my day,
no matter how bad it has been.

I know I can come to you
with the slighest upset
and with a hug,
the problem vanishes.
For all these reasons
and so much more
you are one of my very best friends.

We weren't always this way,
you know...

Reason for writing:

I wrote it for my friend who is moving away, and I wanted
her to have a part of me to take with her.
