BHK-925

by mike-cancer - Not entered

Flying through the ocean blue,
it was then I suddenly knew.
Something different and exciting,
but also warm and inviting.
Standing with you at the edge,
overlooking on the ledge
3:30am and not a soul around,
the rolling black waves the only sound.
That was the summer I would remember,
but now it all seems as cold as December.

I could sense your hesitation,
trying to avoid the situation.
The uneasy laughter and fake smile.
A foot away but more like a mile.
I said to myself that it couldn't be true,
but with that wall around you I couldn't break through.
I thought it was perfect, but to my surprise,
I saw it all crumble before my eyes
To come so far and fall so low,
I promised I'd be there, but you didn't know.
