"Sweet Angels' Eyes"

by Connections - Not entered

What is life but the blinking of an eye?
Too much .... too little... or, is it?
Years gone by twisted into the lie,
So tell me, can you think of any wit?

Oh Lord, I pray today that I might find
The angels of my past
Who live each day in my mind
To say "I love you" and make it last.

No more tears in Heaven, You say..
Thank the Lord for such a gift
For tears on my pillow where I lay
Water the seeds of hope left.

Thank you Lord that not one day more
I'll gaze into those sweet angels' eyes
I left behind at ages five and four
To see in awe how they've grown in size!
