Black

by The Cat in the Hat - Not entered

What is black?
Black is a sound,
deep and low.
Black is the ground,
or a velvet bow.

Black is as dull and dark
as a dungeon.
Black is as bright and shiny
as a new pair of boots,
or the sound of a shoot,
from a gun.

You can smell black too,
a musty shoe,
or a dirty river.
And it sounds like the wind,
or the word "Night".
And black just might
sound like a cry,
or look like a lie.

Who knows?
