She rocked you to sleep every night She embraced your body and held on tight The love she had to give is more than anyone could ever know You could see on her face a tremendous glow She bathed you everyday And when you cried, washed the tears away She felt your first tooth pain To your every call she came She helped you tie your shoelaces And showed you life's many faces She taught you ABC's Hoping in life that you will acheive Every Sunday she'd take you to church When you got dirty, she'd wash off the dirt As you got older, school and homework came along Before bed every night she'd show you the answers that were wrong You developed dreams and goals She always kept you in role Maturity came and boys did too That heartbreak she helped you through When you got caught in sinking sand She was there to lend a hand She gave her life to loving you She made that promise when you were brand new She's always been there and always will To show you what's fantasy and real If anyone in ths world deserves honor It would have to be a mother.
