Riverside

by John Forrester - Pisces - Not entered

I CLUTCHED AT YOU HELPLESSLY UNDER THE STARS
SO HOPELESS, SO LIFELESS -
LIKE A CHILD RIPPED FROM IT'S MOTHER.
DUSK-HIDDEN TEARS, WATCHING AS MY
SURROUNDINGS BECOME GRIM
CLOCKFACES, LIKE A SLOW SENTENCE OF DEATH.
EVERY MOMENT SO PRECIOUS,
SO CERTAIN IN IT'S UNCERTAINTY -
I WANT TO BE COCOONED FOREVER IN YOU,
LIKE THE DARK WATERS DRIFTING,
TAKING MY LIFE WITH YOU.

Reason for writing:

The countdown to losing someone. The river concerned runs through Reading, UK.
