A Shadow of Death

by falcon - Not entered

She walks thru life like a shadow
never really there
she counts down the days, waiting for an end
to her, life's game is not fair.

She doesn't care what happens to her
just another toy for fate
if death does not greet her soon
i fear she cannot wait.

She has tired of the fighting
her will has drained away
they tried so hard to beat her down
for her beliefs, they made her pay.

She walks thru life like a shadow
on top of her, they tread
but despite all this, she is still the winner
because now she is dead.
