Valencia Sun

by Dee / Aquarius - Not entered

Desert heat ignites
Early morning ends quickly
Hot sun beats me down

Summer comes too soon
Rain will be on hold for months
Green hillsides turn brown

To feel cool again
I imagine limpid streams
And feel such languor

I find the water
And drink in restoration
New droplets of life

Reason for writing:

When summer descends upon us in Southern California, it's
oppressive and I wrote this poem as a kind of release.
