Gone in a Day

by Alexei K. - Not entered

Scoop in a dewed leaf
a dropful of moonbeam
and mix it with sparks from
the starry sky shimmering

Take in your bare hands
a bright ray of sunshine
and mix it with daisies from
the gleaming grass glimmering

Then take in the dewed leaf
the star sparks and moonbeam
and take in your bare hands
the daisies and sunshine

Mingle them gently but let
each stay apart and
dip it down in the stone well
and the Christmas bells' chime

Let the wind add its spice
and its sting and its bite

Let the rain add its kiss
and its wet and its fist

Let lightning pierce it
but only a glance
let thunder roll over it
but only just once

Let it fly, let it fly
but don't follow it, no
don't follow, don't follow
or its magic will go

Just remember the making
and the chimes of the bell
Don't forget to wish at
the stone wishing well

Do all of this and
do it rightly, I say
and all the world's horror
will be gone in a day.

Reason for writing:

I wish all the horror in the world WOULD go away.
