goddess

by gogsy-Sagittarius - Not entered

There's a spark between us - An energy
Something I have noticed since we met

It's exalting and terrifying at the same time
And I don't know whether to hug you or hide

Is it intellectual? I don't know
Our minds meander down the one stream
We are tuned to the same frequency
But the music is deliberately turned down low

Is it physical? I'm not sure
I love to touch in general
But touching you is hard to bear
One split second is never enough

Is it spiritual? I can't tell
We only met a short time ago
But it seems as if I have known you for longer
Much longer

What is it when you are in the room?
The wind picks up and blows the leaves
The earth shakes every house awake
Volcanoes erupt around the world

And then you make me laugh

The rarer calmer moments
Are like the eye of a hurricane
I look at your sulky side and know
That all too soon the waves will start chopping again
The beach will be blown over
Soaked and left to dry

And gladly would I face these elements
Like any ancient Roman tragedy
You, Goddess willing them on
The one who brings brightnesss to my day

Reason for writing:

A girl I met only recently, who has a boyfriend. We are friends for now because otherwise it would complicate things. I am not waiting around, but on the other hand that spark is there. The poem was written hours before we kissed for the first time. Anything physical is now on hold of course.
