I know what it means to love unselfishly..... For as much as I love him......as much as I want him....as much as I need him - beyond all of this my greatest wish is for his happiness...... If his happiness is to be found with another, then I will let him go gently. I will listen to him and encourage him. I will be his friend - the one that he can turn to for anything. I will pray to God that she will be his and that their life together will be filled with love and laughter....... I will smile at him with a twinkle in my eyes and he will never know of the tears I cry every night or of the torment that I suffer...... For sometimes, unselfish love means silently breaking your own heart.
